Is Blissville Real?

"Why don't we meet in Blissville," I offer.

"What is Blissville?" the friend asks.

I explain that it's a wedge of land near the LIE and BQE, on the Hagstroms. Simple to find, easy to get to.

But Blissville must cast a spell of its own. How else to explain why so many friends, deliverymen and taxi drivers disappear in trying to get here?

How true. I cannot tell you how many times deliveries, taxis, and friends have gotten lost coming to Blissville. Quite recently, my Fresh Direct Delivery Person got lost (Fresh Direct is just down the road over the Borden Avenue bridge). How wonderful though, when in a conversation I mention Blissville and the other person's eyes light up in recognition and acknowledgement of Blissville. All of a sudden it is as if we just shared secret knowledge and a kinship, all based on this little hamlet of Blissville.
